Short answer
Use nearby main-quest objectives and repeatables in Anchor Town until the Clown Town transition is available around level 30, then move toward Maple Village around level 70. Those are reported route bands, not hard locks. The main quest decides whether you can actually travel.
Route table — source check 2026-08-31
| Approximate band | Focus | Transition signal | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–30-ish | Starting / Anchor Town main quest plus nearby repeatables | Current quest and route point toward Clown Town | SOURCE-BACKED CURRENT |
| 30–70-ish | Clown Town objectives that overlap | Maple Village route becomes available | SOURCE-BACKED CURRENT |
| 70+ | Maple Village, current quest and power systems | Follow the live quest to later content | SOURCE-BACKED CURRENT |
The efficient loop
- Pick up the main quest before leaving the hub.
- Add repeatables only when they share enemies or travel with that quest.
- Turn in before wandering for a rumored “best” spot.
- Check the main quest again when the current loop slows down.
- Make one small mastery, weapon or life-skill detour only if it removes the failure you are currently seeing.

If you are stuck
The next island will not open
Treat the quest state as the blocker until the live client says otherwise. A route band is not a substitute for the story requirement.
Your damage is too low for the next objective
Do a focused improvement pass: confirm active skills, mastery progression, weapon requirement or resource path. A lower island is not automatically the best answer.
You are tempted by an old “fastest farm” video
Compare its patch context to the current client. This site does not promote fixed XP claims without current evidence.
Use the planner
Enter your current level in the Leveling Route Planner. It returns the appropriate route band plus a live-quest check, rather than pretending it knows every exact prerequisite.
